_. Patrick Julian Dawnay, who died suddenly, 28 April, 2020, aged 81, was a scion of the Viscounts Downe.
He was born 27 March, 1939, son of Wing Commander Michael Dawnay [1912-46], by his wife Julian Mary Brassey [1914-1979], the adopted daughter of the 1st Baron Brassey of Apethorpe.
He married 21 May, 1966, Julie Katharine Olivier [born 1941], daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel [William] Herbert Olivier, TD [1904-92], of Ashford Hall, Bakewell, Derbyshire, a cousin of the great actor Sir Laurence Olivier [1907-89], created a life peer as Baron Olivier, and had a son, Michael [born 1969], and two daughters, Katharine [born 1968], and Evelym [born 1974].
His daughter Katharine is the wife of actor Crispin Bonham Carter [born 1969], scion of that landed family.
