She was the former Nancy Everil Leatham, scion of that landed family, the only child of Lieutenant-Col. Bertram Henry Leatham, DSO, late the Green Howards, and married, 29 May, 1937, Col William Vernon-Harcourt, by whom she had a son and a daughter.
A Thanksgiving Service takes place at All Saints, Denmead, 18 Dec, 2017.

_. The Lady Ursula d'Abo, who died 2 November, 2017, aged 100, was one of the last surviving aristocrats to participate at the Coronation of King George VI & Queen Elizabeth, in May, 1937.
As the 20 year-old Lady Ursula Manners she acted as one of Queen Elizabeth's trainbearers in Westminster Abbey, and later appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, on May 12 1937.
Ursula Isabel Manners was born 8 November, 1916, the elder daughter of the 9th Duke of Rutland (1886-1940), by his wife the former Kathleen Tennant.
She married firstly, 25 July, 1943 (div1947)Anthony Freire Marreco, RNVR, scion of that landed family, only son of the late Geoffrey Marreco. She resumed her maiden name, and married 2ndly, 22 Nov, 1951, Robert Erland Nicolai d'Abo, scion of that landed family, elder son of Gerard Louis d'Abo, by whom she had issue, two sons and a daughter.

__. Hon Simon Hastings-Bass, who died 6 October, 2017, aged 67, was a scion of the Earls of Huntingdon, the younger brother, and heir presumptive of the 16th Earl.
He was born 2 May, 1950. second son of Peter Robin Hood Hastings-Bass (1920-64) by his wife the former Priscilla Bullock, scion of the Bullock baronets and descended from the Earls of Derby.
His elder brother, William, succeeded to the Earldom (cr 1529) in 1990, and in 1992 Simon was raised to the rank of the younger son of an earl.
The heir presumptive to the peerage is now a younger brother, the Hon John Hastings-Bass, who was born 5 June, 1954.

The viscountcy of Churchill (created in 1902) now becomes extinct. The 3rd Viscount is succeeded in the barony of Churchill (created in 1815) by his second cousin once removed, Richard Harry Ramsay Spencer, born 11 Oct, 1926, who becomes the 6th Baron Churchill.
