Sir Archibald Bruce Charles Edmonstone of Duntreath, 7th Baronet, died 29 August, 2026. He was 92.
The baronet was seated at Duntreath Castle, Blanefield, Stirlingshire.
He was born 3 August, 1934, son of Sir Archibald Charles Edmonstone of Duntreath, 6th Baronet (1898-1954), and his wife the former Gwendolyn Mary Field (died 27 Nov, 1989), daughter of Marshall Field, Jr (1868-1905), of Chicago, Illinois.
He succeeded to the baronetcy (created GB 1774) upon his fathers death, 5 June, 1954.
He married firstly, 17 January, 1957 (div), Jane Colville (born 16 March, 1936), scion of the Viscounts Colville of Culross, daughter of Maj-Gen Edward Charles Colville, CB, DSO, JP (1905-1982), and his wife the former Barbara Joan Denny (died 1983); and married 2ndly, 24 June, 1969, Juliet Elizabeth Deakin (born 1 December, 1943), daughter of Maj-Gen. Cecil Martin Fothergill Deakin, CB, CBE (1910-1992), and his wife the former Evelyn Mary Frances Grant, scion of the Grant of Monymusk baronets.
From his first marriage he leaves two sons, (Archibald) Edward Charles Edmonstone Yr of Duntreath (born 4 Feb, 1961), and Nicholas (born 16 Apr, 1964), and a daughter, Philippa (born 12 June, 1958), and from his second marriage, a son, Dru (born 26 Oct, 1971), and a daughter, Elyssa Juliet (born 11 September, 1973), former wife of Archduke Sigismsund of Austria, Grand Duke of Tuscany.
His eldest son, Edward, succeeds to the baronetcy.
