Henry John Scrope, who died 16 September, 2026, aged 84, was a scion of the landed family of Scrope of Danby.
He was born 10 October, 1941, the eldest son of Ralph Henry Scrope (1905-1981), and his wife the Lady Beatrice Anne Savile [1910-1973], second daughter of the 6th Earl of Mexborough [1868-1945].
He married at Bury St Edmunds, 23 June, 1989, Mary Clare Critchley Salmonson (born 30 November, 1947), scion of that landed gentry family, daughter of Maj. John Albert Miles Critchley Salmonson (1916-1998), and his wife the former Joan Margaret Haseldine (1920-1995), by whom he had a son, William John Aldric Scrope (born 7 January, 1991).
