Peter Maurice Afia died 1 March, 2026, aged 87.
He was born in London in 1938, & he married 15 December, 1985, as her second husband, Mrs, & Meriel Rose Kenyon-Slaney, CVO (nee Buxton), born 16 April, 1940, scion of the Buxton baronets, daughter of Capt Joseph Gurney Fowell Buxton (1913-1943), and his wife the former Elizabeth Barbour; who married 1stly, Robert Ivan Kenyon-Slaney (1926-1984), scion of the Barons Kenyon, son of Maj Robert Orlando Rodolph Kenyon-Slaney (1892-1965), and his 1st wife Lady Mary Cecilia Rhodesia Hamilton (1896-1984), daughter of the 3rd Duke of Abercorn, KG (1869-1953).
Meriel Afia was an Extra Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy, and she died 8 October, 2025, aged 85.
