The Baroness Wyatt of Weeford died 10 March, 2026. She was 100.
Verushka Wyatt was the fourth wife, and widow of Woodrow Lyle Wyatt, Baron Wyatt of Weeford (1918-1997) who was a British politician, author, journalist and broadcaster, close to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, Margaret Thatcher and Rupert Murdoch. For the last twenty years of his life, he was chairman of the state betting organisation The Tote.
She was the former Veronica Maria Racz, born 25 September, 1925, daughter of Jano Racz, of Budapest, and married firstly, in 1953, Baron Laszlo Banszky von Ambroz (who died June, 1965), a wealthy exiled Hungarian; and married 2ndly, in 1966, Woodrow Wyatt, son of Robert Harvey Lyle Wyatt, of Esher, Surrey.
Her husband was raised to the peerage for life 3 February, 1987, as Baron Wyatt of Weeford, of Weeford in the County of Staffordshire. He died 7 December, 1997.
Lady Wyatt leaves a daughter, the Hon Petronella Aspasia Wyatt (born 1968).
