The Hon Sir Alistair Simon Orr-Ewing, 2nd Baronet, died 6 August, 2024, aged 84.
He was born 10 June, 1940, son of Charles Ian Orr-Ewing (1912-1999), Conservative MP for Hendon and government minister, created a baronet (1963) and then a life peer (1971) as Baron Orr-Ewing, by his wife the former Joan Helen Victoria McMinnies (1917-2010). He succeeded to his father's baronetcy, 19 August, 1999.
Orr-Ewing married 8 February, 1968, Victoria Cameron (born 1946), daughter of Keith Cameron, of Fifield House, Milton-under-Wychwood, Oxon, by whom he had issue, two sons, Archie and Jamie, and a daughter, Georgina. The elder son, Archie Cameron Orr-Ewing, who was born 29 March, 1969, succeeds as 3rd baronet.
