The engagement was announced 7 January, 2023, between Mr T.J. (Tim) Smith, elder son of Andrew Smith, of Aberystwyth, and Mrs Patricia Smith, of Solihull, & Juliet Irvine-Fortescue (born 3 Aug, 1991), descended from the Barons Fortescue, daughter of Maj Grenville Archer Irvine-Fortescue (born 4 Nov, 1954), of Auchindoir, Aberdeenshire, and his wife the former Virginia Townsend.
