Major Mark Frederick Hakon Scrase-Dickins 1936-2022

Major Mark Frederick Hakon Scrase-Dickins, CMG, scion of that landed gentry family, died 10 November, 2022, aged 86. He was a direct descendant of the 1st Marquess of Northampton and from the Merrie Monarch, King Charles II.

He was born 31 May, 1936, son of Wing-Commander Alwyne Rory MacNamara Scrase-Dickins, RAF (1898-1983), and his seconbd wife the former Ingeborg Oskara Fredrrika Gunilla Wijk (1901-1993); and married in 1969, Martina Viviane (Tina) Bayley (born 1944), daughter of Percy Harold Bayley, of Brighton, by whom he had a son, William, and two daughters.

Maj Scrase-Dickins, a soldier turned diplomat, was appointed CMG in 1991. He was a Deputy Lieutenant for the County of Sussex in 2004, High Sheriff from 2003 to 2004 and president of St John Ambulance, Sussex, from 2005 to 2011.
