Anthony Gerard Astley Birtwistle died 26 September, 2021, aged 93. He was born in 1928, son of James Astley Birtwistle [1889-1975], and his wife the former Muriel Mary Marwood [1892-1988]; married 30 Oct, 1954, the Hon Diana Barnewall [born 13 Oct, 1929], daughter of the 19th Baron Trimlestown [1899-1990], and his wife the former Muriel Schneider [1894-1937], by whom he had issue, four daughters, Caroline [b 1955], Emma [b 1957], Lucinda [b 1960], and Sophia [b 1964].
