_. The Lady Rose Berger, who died 28 April, 2021, aged 93, was a scion of the Earls of Cottenham.
She was born Lady Rose Edith Edina Pepys, 5 November, 1927, elder daughter of the 6th Earl of Cottenham [1903-43], and his wife the former Sybil Venetia Taylor [died 2001]. Her parents divorced in 1939, in which year her mother married secondly, the 17th Earl of Devon [1916-98], of Powderham Castle. Lady Rose had a younger sister, Lady Paulina Pepys [1930-2017], and two half-siblings, Lady Katherine Courtenay [1940-2015], and the 18th Earl of Devon [1942-2015].
She married 24 September, 1994, Colonel Oliver Charles Berger [1913-98], of the Royal Scots Greys.
