_.James Brooks Close Agnew, who died 29 November, 2020, aged 67, was a scion of the Agnew baronets [cr 1895].
He was born 12 April, 1953, third son of Stephen William Agnew [1921-2001], and his wife the former Elizabeth Close. He married in 1984, Judith Dianne Gilbert, daughter of Edward Gilbert, by whom he had two daughters, Catherine [born 1986], and Louise [born 1988].
James Agnew was a grandson of Major Sir John Stuart Agnew, 3rd Baronet, DL [1879-1957]. James's elder brother, John [born 30 Aug 1949], is heir presumptive to the family baronetcy.
