Commander John Alexander de Mussenden Leathes, OBE, RN, who died 19 December, 2020, aged 92, was a scion of the Leathes landed gentry family, of Herringfleet; born in 1928, ; son of Lieutenant-Commander John Duncan de Mussenden Leathes, RN [1896-1932], and his wife the former Florence Beatrice Taylor [1898-1978]; and married 1967, Sara Elizabeth [Sally] Collard, daughter of John Marlowe Collard, by whom he had issue, a son William [born 1968], and a daughter, Amanda [born 1971].
