_. Sir John McFarland, 3rd Baronet, former High Sheriff and Deputy Lieutenant of County Londonderry, died there, 11 September, 2020. He was 92.
John Talbot McFarland was born 3 Oct, 1927, son of Sir Basil McFarland, 2nd Baronet [1898-1986], by his wife the former Annie Kathleen Henderson [died 1952], and succeeded to the baronetcy on his father's death, 5 March, 1986.
He married 5 March, 1957, Mary Scott Watson, daughter of Dr William Scott Watson, by whom he had issue, two sons and two daughters. The baronetcy passes to his elder son, Anthony Basil Scott McFarland, who was born 29 Nov, 1959.
The funeral Service takes place at St Columbs Cathedral, Tuesday 15 September, 2020, followed by burial in Carrigans Parish Church Burial Ground.
