_. Lady Christie, who died 4 June, 2020, aged 83, was the chatelaine of Glyndebourne, presiding over the country opera house with her husband Sir George Christie, CH, head of that landed gentry family.
She was born Patricia Mary Nicholson, 16 May, 1937, daughter of Ivor Peter Nicholson [1891-1937], by his wife the former Patricia Graves Stuart Stoker [1907-96], cousin of the Dracula author, Bram Stoker.
She married 1958, George William Langham Christie [1934-2014], son of Capt John Christie, CH, MC [1882-1962], by his wife the former Grace Audrey Louisa St John-Mildmay [1900-1953], scion of the Mildmay baronets, by whom she had four children, Hector, Augustus [Gus], Ptolomy, and Louise.
