_. Joanna Sebag-Montefiore, who died 18 June, 2020, aged 81, was the wife of Capt Peter Edward Geoffrey Nathaniel Sebag-Montefiore, [born 29 June, 1929], scion of that landed family.
She was born in 1938, daughter of General Sir Joseph Howard Nigel Poett, KCB, DSO [1907-1991], of Cranmer Court, London, who commanded the 5th Parachute Brigade in the Second World War, by his wife the former Julia Herrick.
She married 17 September, 1960, Capt Peter Sebag-Montefiore, son Maj Geoffrey Edmund Sebag-Montefiore [1893-1943], by his wife the former Elizabeth Grace Troyte-Bullock [1898-1975], by whom she had five children.
Mrs Sebag-Montefiore was the mother-in-law of zoo owner and conservationist Damian Aspinall.
Mrs Sebag-Montefiore is survived by her husband.
