Sir James Arthur Cayzer, 5th Baronet, scion of a great British shipping family, died at Kinpurnie Castle, Angus, 27 February, 2012. He was 80. He was born 15 Nov, 1931, second son of Sir Charles William Cayzer, 3rd Baronet (1896-1940) by his wife the former Beatrice Eileen Meakin; succeeded to the baronetcy (cr UK, 1904), on the death of his elder brother, Sir Nigel, the 4th Baronet, who was killed in action at Salerno, 11 Sept, 1943. The 5th Baronet was unmarried and the baronetcy now devolves upon his kinsman, the 3rd Baron Rotherwick.

Cyril Dickman: Steward to the Royal Household, dies
Cyril Dickman, a favourite royal servant, who served the Royal Family for more than 50 years, has died. Lambeth-born Mr Dickman, former Palace Steward died last week aged 85.
Mr Dickman's funeral was held at the Chapel Royal St James's Palace, 27 February, 2012, and the Royal Family were well represented. The Queen and Prince Philip were represented by the Hon Mary Morrison, the Queen's lady in waiting; Wing Commander Richard Pattle represented the Prince of Wales; former royal nanny Mabel Anderson represented the Duke of York, and Lt-Col Sean O'Dwyer represented the Earl of Wessex. The Princess Royal was represented by Rowena Feilden, her lady in waiting. The Duke of Kent was represented by Capt Charles Pearson, and Princess Alexandra by stalwart royal retainer Lady Susan Hussey.

Hon Peregrine John Wishart Fairfax
The Hon. Peregrine John Wishart Fairfax, a son of the 12th Lord Fairfax of Cameron, died 23rd February, 2012. He was 86. Mr Fairfax was born 8 March, 1925. His father, Albert Kirby Fairfax (1870-1939) succeeded his father in 1900 as 12th holder of the peerage (cr Scotland, 1627).
Peregrine's mother was thre former Maude Wishart McKelvie, who d. 4 Oct, 1973.
He married 1965, Virginia Alexandra de L'Etang Kindersley, scion of the Barons Kindersley, by whom he had issue, a son, Thomas, b 1966, and a daughter, Doune, b 1968.
Mr Fairfax was best man at the wedding of Princess Alexandra of Kent and the Hon Angus Ogilvy at Westminster Abbey in April, 1963. He served as High Sheriff of Northumberland in 1971.
The funeral takes place at Berwick-upon-Tweed, 21 Mar, 2012.

The Baron Corbett of Castle Vale (Life Peer, cr 2001) died 19 February, 2012. He was 78. As Robin Corbett MP he sponsored a ground-breaking Private Members Bill in the Commons in 1976 which provided anonymity to the victims of rape. Robin Corbett was born 22 Dec, 1933, & was twice married. A daughter, Polly Hudson, is a columnist on the Daily Mirror.

Simon Mark Noel Ponsonby (1961-2012)
Simon Mark Noel Ponsonby, who died 14 February, 2012, aged 50, was distantly related to the Earls of Bessborough. He was born in 1961, the son of Commander Francis Ponsonby, LVO, OBE, RN (1932-2003) by his former wife the former Sally Cocup.
Simon's paternal grandfather was Gilbert Jocelyn Ponsonby (b 4 May 1904), who was a son of the Rev. Stewart Gordon Ponsonby (1856-1938), who married in 1889, Mary Catherine Buxton (1870-1960), dau of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 3rd Baronet (1837-1915), by his wife the former Lady Victoria Noel, daughter of the 1st Earl of Gainsborough, &c.
The Ponsonby line here stems from John Ponsonby, a brother of William 1st Baron Bessborough.
