Michael Davidson-Houston, died 1 February, 2026, aged 88. He was a scion of that landed gentry family.
He was born in 1937, son of Brigadier James Vivian Davidson-Houston, MBE, OStJ (1901-1965), and his wife the former Cecily Alice Ayscough Stockdale (1903-1993). He married 28 February, 1969, Jane P. Coghlan (born 1944), daughter of Humphrey St John Coghlan (1915-1988), of Holly Bank, Birstwith, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and his wife the former Marie Lilian Lacoste (1914-1998), by whom he had two sons, Mark (born 1969), and James (born 1971).
