Lady Fraser, who died 20 July, 2024, aged 91, was the widow of General Sir David Fraser, a scion of the Lords Saltoun.
The former Julia Frances Oldridge De La Hey was born in 1932, a daughter of Cyril James Oldridge de la Hey (1897-1936), and his wife the former Catherine Isabel Sturges-Jones (1904-1976); and married in 1957, as his second wife, General Sir David William Fraser, GCB, OBE (1920-2012), who served as Commandant of the Royal College of Defence Studies from 1978 until his retirement from military service in 1980. He was also a prolific author, publishing over 20 books mostly focused on the history of the Second World War.
Her husband was a son of Brigadier the Hon William Fraser (1890-1964), and hia wife the former Pamela Cynthia Maude (1893-1975), scion of the Viscounts Hawarden, and was a grandson of the 19th Lord Saltoun (1851-1933).
She leaves issue, two sons, Alexander and Simon, and two daughters, Lucy and Arabella.
