Hugo David Morley-Fletcher, who died 30 December, 2022, aged 82, was a grandson maternally of the 11th Marquess of Tweeddale.
Morley-Fletcher was one of Britain's leading experts in ceramics, and author of numerous publications on the subject. As a porcelain expert he appeared on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow.
He was born in September, 1940, son of Lieutenant-Colonel David Morley-Fletcher (1910-71), and his wife the former Lady Christine Daphne Hay (1919-2000), daughter of the 11th Marquess of Tweeddale (1884-1967).
He married firstly, 14 January, 1967 (div 1980), Josceline Mary Phillimore (born 7y January, 1946), scion of the Barons Phillimore, daughter of Sir Henry Josceline Phillimore, OBE, PC (1910-74), a Lord Justice of Appeal, and his wife the former Katharine Mary Maude Roxby; married 2ndly, in 1980, Belinda Mary David, daughter of William Miles David, of Ponefract, West Yorkshire.
He leaves issue from his first marriage, a son, Gifford (born 13 June, 1969), and a daughter, Hester (born in 1972), and a daughter from his second marriage, (Isabella) Frances (born 1981).
