(Shirley) Eugenie Mary Vere Nicoll [nee Allen], died 5 October, 2022, aged 93. She was the second wife of Major Raymond Guy Vere Nicoll, MC, scion of that landed gentry family.
She was born in 1929, daughter of Ernest Grahame Allen [1899-1989], and his wife the former Elsie Marjorie Alexandra Davies [1904-1993]; and married in 1952, Maj Raymond Guy Vere Nicoll, MC [1915-1981], son of Lieutenant-Col Charles Vere Nicoll [1881-1962], and his wife the former Mary Helen Venning [1884-1970], by whom he had issue, a son, Charles [born 1955].
