The Baroness Jenkin of Roding 1928-2022

 The Baroness Jenkin of Roding, wo died 18 July, 2022, aged 94, was the widow of Conservative politician and life peer, the Baron Jenkin of Roding, PC [1926-2016].

She was the former Alison Monica Graham, born in 1928, scion of an Irish landed family, the eldest daughter of Capt Philip Skelton Graham [1882-1965], and his wife the former Alison Florence Alexandra Christison [1901-96], scion of the baronets of that name; and married in 1952, the then [Charles] Patrick Fleming Jenkin [born 7 Sept, 1926], son of Charles O.F. Jenkin,of Gerrads Cross, Buckinghamshire. 

Her husband was Conservative MP for Wanstead and Woodford 1964-87, Front Bench Spokesman on Treasury, Trade & Finance 1965-70; Financial Secretary to the Treasury in Edward Heath's administration, 1970-72, Chief Secretary to the Treasury 1972-74; Minister for Energy Jan-Mar 1974; Shadow Spokesman on Energy 1974-76, and on Social Services 1976-79, Secretary of State for Social Services in Margaret Thatcher's administration, 1979-81, Secretary of State for Industry 1981-83, and DoE 1983-85. He was sworn of the Privy Council in 1973, created a life peer in 1987, as Baron Jenkin of Roding, of Wanstead and Woodford in Greater London. He died 20 December, 2016.

Lady Jenkin of Roding leaves issue, two sons, Rev the Hon Charles Jenkin [born 1954], the Hon Sir Bernard Jenkin, MP [born 1959], and two daughters, the Hon Nicola Mary [born 1956], and the Hon Flora Margaret [born 1962].

The funeral takes place 3 Aug, 2022, at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds.
