Lady Leggatt, who died 7 December, 2021, aged 83, was wife of the late Sir Hugh Leggatt [1925-2014], the Old Etonian doyen of the London fine art trade.
She was born in 1938 as Caroline Gaynor Tregoning, scion of that landed gentry family, daughter of William Leonard Tregoning, CBE [1902-91], head of that family, and his wife the former Doris Mary Elwes [1907-1985], scion of that landed gentry family.
She married in 1991, as his second wife, Sir Hugh Frank John Leggatt [1925-2014], son of Henry Leggatt [1896-1951] and his wife the former Beatrice Grace Burton [1900-1936].
