_. The Hon Thomas Richard Lindsay, who died 8 November, 2020, aged 83, was a scion of the Earls of Crawford & Balcarres.
He was born 18 February, 1937, third son of the 28th Earl of Crawford & Balcarres, KT, GBE [1900-1975], and his wife Mary Katherine Cavendish [1903-1994], scion of the Dukes of Devonshire.
Thomas's maternal grandfather was Lord Richard Cavendish [1871-1946], of Holker Hall, Cark-in-Cartmel, whose wife, Lady Moyra de Vere Beauclerk [1876-1942], was a scion of the Dukes of St Albans and a descendant of King Charles II and Nell Gwynn.
He married 20 April, 1961, Sarah Virginia [Ginnie] Capel-Cure [born 27 Oct, 1938], scion of that landed gentry family, daughter of George Nigel Capel-Cure [1908-2004], and his wife the former Nancy Elizabeth Barry [1910-2006], who was a granddaughter maternally of the 7th Earl of Dunmore [1841-1907].
Thomas Lindsay leaves a widow, three sons and two daughters.
