The engagement was announced 17 February, 2006, between Alan J. Ruddy, son of Mr & Mrs Patrick Ruddy, of Radlett, Hertfordshire, & Harriet Anne Benson (b. 1974), younger daughter of the Hon. Michael D'Arcy Benson (b. 1943), and Rev Rachel Benson, of Westow, North Yorkshire.
HarrietBenson is a granddaughter of the late life peer Baron Benson, GBE.
