The Hon Edward Latham Baillieu, who died 10 February, 2006, aged 86, was a son of the 1st Baron Baillieu, KBE, CMG (1889-1967), by his wife the former Ruby Florence Evelyn Clark; he was born in 1919; educated at Winchester and Brasenose College, Oxford (BA 1942; MA 1947); formerly a member of the London Stock Exchange; Chairman, National Mutual Life Assurance Association of Australasia (London branch); Director, ANZ Bank; director of Rio Tinto Zinc and other companies; Deputy Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England; served in the Second World War in the Royal Artillery and RHA (invalided); married 1942, Betty Anne Jardine, daughter of Henry Leslie Jardine Taylor, of Crofton Lodge, Sunningdale, Berkshire, and had issue, Sarah (deceased), Christopher, Annette and Philip.
