The engagement was announced 6 June, 2026, between Joseph James Royston Weld (born 1992), scion of that landed gentry family, eldest son of James Joseph Weld (born 29 April, 1960), of Lulworth, and his wife the former Sara Elizabeth Royston, & Rebecca M. Scott, daughter of the late Dr Andrew Scott, and of Mrs Kay Scott, of Salisbury, Wiltshire.
