George Christopher Capron died 20 June, 2026, aged 90. He was head of that landed gentry family of Southwick Hall.
He was head of BBC TV Current Affairs (1981-85).
He was born 17 December, 1935, the only son Lieutenant-Colonel George Theodore Herbert Capron (1897-1970), by his wife the Hon Edith Christian Hepburne-Scott (1901-1989), third daughter of the 9th Baron Polwarth (1864-1944).
He married 5 July, 1958, Edna Naomi Goldrei (born 1935), younger daughter of Chanania Goldrei (1895-1974), of Napier Rd, London W14, by whom he had issue, a son (George) David (born 11 April, 1961), and a daughter, Naomi Louise (born 22 July, 1962).
