Sir (John) Martin Armytage, 9th Baronet, died 2 February, 2025. He was 91.
The baronet, who lived in Cheltenham, was ninth holder of the baronetcy created in 1738, of Kirklees, Yorkshire, where the family had been seated for centuries.
Martin Armytage, educated at Eton and Worcester College, Oxford, was the son of Sir John Lionel Armytage, 8th Baronet (1901-1983), of Kirklees Park, Brighouse, West Yorkshire, and his wife the former Evelyn Mary Jessamine Fox (died 2008), daughter of Edward Herbert Fox, of Adbury Park, Newbury.
He succeeded to the baronetcy on his father's death, 21 June, 1983. He was unmarried.
The title now passes to his cousin, Hugh Anthony Armytage (born 6 August, 1955).
