Julian Humphrey Prideaux, who died 12 February, 2025, aged 82, was a scion of that gentry family of Elderslie, born 19 June, 1942, the second son of Sir Humphrey Povah Treverbian Prideaux, OBE, DL (1915-2014), and his wife the former Cynthia Violet Birch Reynardson (1918-2008), scion of that landed gentry family; & married 5 August, 1967, Rosamund Jill Dougal, daughter of Richard Patrick Roney Dougal, by whom he had two sons, Adam (born 1968), and Nigel (born 1971).
His father, Sir Humphrey, was a Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire and was awarded a knighthood in the 1971 New Year’s Honours list.
