Lady Cubitt 1934-2023, widow of Sir Hugh Cubitt, CBE

 Lady Cubitt, who died 30 April, 2023, aged 88, was the widow of Sir Hugh Cubitt, CBE, a cousin of the Queen.

She was born 4 May, 1934, as Linda Ishbel Campbell, a scion of the Barons Colgrain, daughter of the Hon Angus Dudley Campbell, of Nantwich, Cheshire, by his wife the former Joan Esther Sybilla Pakenham (1904-1998), scion of the Earls of Longford; and married 26 June, 1958, Hugh Guy Cubitt, CBE, who was born 2 July, 1928, son of Lieutenant-Col the Hon Charles Guy Cubitt [1903-79], by his wife the former Rosamond Mary Edith Cholmeley [1904-84], scion of the Cholmeley baronets, and was a grandson of the 2nd Baron Ashcombe [1867-1947]. Her husband was elected to Westminster City Council in 1963, and later became its leader. He served as Lord Mayor of Westminster 1977-78. In 1983 he was knighted and served as High Sheriff of Surrey in that year.

Her husband died died 6 February, 2020, aged 91. He was a cousin of Her Majesty Queen Camilla.

Lady Cubitt leanes a son Jonathan (born 4 Nov, 1962), and two daughters, Joanna (born 27 May, 1960) and Victoria (b 1964).
