Susanna Maria Johnston [nee Chancellor], who died 3 March, 2022, aged 86, was a scion of the Chancellor landed gentry family.
She was born 28 Oct, 1935, daughter of Sir Christopher John Chancellor, CMG [1904-89], head of that family, and his wife the former Sylvia Mary Paget [1901-96], scion of the Paget baronets, and married 1958, Nicholas John Johnston [born 1929], scion of an Irish landed family, son of Capt Archibald Edward Johnston, CBE, RN [1885-1967], and his wife the former Isabel Pamela Shand [1895-1987], by whom she had four daughters, Clara [b 1960], married to a Weatherall whose sister married the late Earl of Strathmore; Lily [b 1962]; Rose [b 1963], and Silvy [b 1968], married to a Weatherall [brother of her sister's husband].
