_. The Hon Jean Elizabeth Strutt [nee Davidson], died 15 August, 2020. She was 96. She was the mother of Lord Rayleigh.
She was born Jean Elizabeth Davidson, 19 June, 1924, daughter of the 1st Viscount Davidson, GCVO, CH, CB, PC [1889-1970], by his wife the former Hon Frances Joan Dickinson [1894-1985], elevated to the peerage for life as Baroness Northchurch, in 1964. Baroness Northchurch was a daughter of the 1st Baron Dickinson [1859-1943].
She married 17 December, 1952, the Hon Charles Richard Strutt [1910-1981], son of the 4th Baron Rayleigh [1875-1947], by his wife the former Lady Mary Hilda Clements [1875-1919], daughter of the 4th Earl of Leitrim [1847-92], by whom she had a son, John Gerald Strutt, 6th Baron Rayleigh [born 4 June, 1960], and two daughters, Anne [born 1955], who was elevated to the Lords with a life peerage as Baroness Jenkin of Kennington, and Mary Jean [born 1957].
