William Fane de Salis, who died 16 July, 2019, aged 80, was a scion of that landed family of Bourne House; born 1939 son of Group Capt Arthur Regester Fane de Salis [1911-2001] by his wife the former Nancy Mary Welch [1911-2001]; married 1963, Phyllida Jane Vavasour Durell [born 1942], daughter of Dudley Vavasour Durell [1906-98] by his wife the former Beryl Frances Joan Chaplin, by whom he had issue.
