_. Roger Melville Taunton Raikes, who died 27 August, 2018, was a scion of that landed gentry family.
He was born in 1927 son of Lieut-Col Wilfrid Taunton Raikes (1892-1953), by his wife the former Elizabeth Kennedy (1893-1979); married 1960, his first cousin, Rosanne Margaret Raikes (born 1933), dau of Col David Taunton Raikes, DSO, MC (1897-1966) by his wife the former Cynthia Birkett Stewart-Brown (1906-88), scion of the Brown baronets; 4 sons of the marriage.
The funeral service takes place at St Gastyn's Church, Llangasty, Brecon, 11 September, 2018.
