The engagement was announced 4 August, 2018, between James Henry Wheeler-Carmichael (born 1990), elder son of George Alexander Wheeler-Carmichael (born 1959), of Hyde, Gloucestershire, by his wife the former Marianne Jean Law (born 1960), & Fiona Anne Belcher (born 1991), daughter of Simon James Belcher, of Thorner, West Yorkshire, by his wife the former Penelope Mary Lucas (born 1957).

James Wheeler-Carmichael is a great-grandson of the 7th Baron Ellenborough.
