_.Lady Stormonth Darling, who died 27 January, 2013, at Ayr, was the
widow of Sir James Carlisle (Jamie) Stormonth Darling, Knt, scion of
that landed family, and sometime director of the National Trust for
Scotland.
She was the former Mary Finella Gammell, daughter of
Lt-Gen Sir James Andrew Harcourt Gammell KCB, DSO (b 26 Sep 1892 -d 1975), head of the landed family of Drumtochty Castle, Fordoun, Kincardine, by his wife (nee Dow), and married Jamie Stormonth Darling (b 18 Jul
1918), son of Robert Stormonth Darling (1880-1956), by his wife Beryl
Madeleine Sayer. Her husband died 17 Apr, 2000. She leaves issue.
A Memorial Service takes place at Dirleton Kirk, East Lothian, 5 Feb 2013.
