 Patricia Belsham, who died 2 February, 2016, aged 86, was a scion of the Pelly baronets.

She was born 15 September, 1929, daughter of Ralph Horsley Pelly (1907-1973), and his wife the former Jacobina Benson Landscrown (who died in 2001); and married in 1950, George Belsham, by whom she had issue.

Sir John Ropner, 2nd Baronet 1937-2016

__. Sir John Ropner, 2nd Baronet, died at his home in North Yorkshire, Thorp Perrow, Bedale, 13 February, 2016, aged 78.

He was born 16 Apr, 1937, son of Sir Leonard Ropner, 1st Bt, of a shipping dynasty, by his wife the former Esme Robertson (d 11 Dec, 1996); succeeded to the baronetcy on the demise of his father, 12 Oct, 1977.

He married firstly, in 1961 (div 1970), Anne Melicent Delmé Radcliffe; married 2ndly, 1970 (div 1993), Auriol Mackeson-Sandbach (she is now Marchioness of Linlithgow); married thirdly, 1996, Diana Nicola Agnew.

Sir John leaves 2 daughters from his first marriage,  and one son and two daughters from his second marriage. The baronetcy passes to his son, Henry John William Ropner, who was born 24 Oct, 1981.

6th Baron Harlech 1954-2016

_. The Baron Harlech, who died at Gwynned, North Wales, 1 February, 2016, aged 61, was the 6th holder of the peerage (Baron, UK, cr 1876).

Francis David Ormsby-Gore, was born 13th March, 1954, son of the 5th Baron Harlech, KCMG, PC, sometime British Ambassador to Washington, by his first wife the former Sylvia Thomas (who d 1967); succeeded to the peerage on the death of his father, who died as the result of an accident, 26 January, 1985.

Lord Harlech married in May, 1986, Amanda Jane Grieve, daughter of Alan Thomas Grieve, of Ludlow, co Shropshire, by whom he had issue, a son, Jasset David Cody, and a daughter, Tallulah, a model, who was born in 1988. The son, was born 1 July, 1986, succeeds to the peerage.

_. Lady Frederick Windsor, wife of the Queen's cousin, Lord Frederick Windsor, gave birth to a second daughter, Isabella Alexandra May, in London, 16 January, 2016, a sister for Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina, who was born 15 Aug, 2013.

Lady Frederick is the former actress Sophie Lara Winkleman, daughter of Barry Winkleman by his wife the former Cindy Black. The Windsors married at Hampton Court Palace, 12 Sept, 1909.

Lord Frederick Windsor is the only son of HRH Prince Michael of Kent, and is a great-grandson of King George V and Queen Mary.

12th Baron Suffield 1953-2016

_. The 12th Baron Suffield [Peerage of GB, cr 1786], a former Equerry to HM The Queen, died at his home, 15 January, 2016. He was 62.

Charles Anthony Assheton Harbord-Hamond was born 3 Dec, 1953, eldest son of the 11th Baron Suffield, MC (1922-2011), by his wife the former Elizabeth Eve Edgedale (d 1995); succeeded to the peerage and baronetcy on the death of his father, 8 December, 2011; married 1stly 10 Sept, 1983 (div 1990), Lucy Lennox Scrope Hutchinson; married 2ndly, 1999, Mrs Emma Louise Royds, daughter of Sir Lawrence Williams, 9th Baronet. Lord Suffield was appointed am equerry to the Queen in 1977.

Lord Suffield leaves two daughters from his second marriage. The family honours now pass to his younger brother, the Hon John Harbord-Hamond, who was born in 1956.

Hon Elizabeth Anne Wills 1939-2016

The Hon Elizabeth Anne Wills, who died 15 January, 2015, aged  76, was a scion of the Barons Rockley. Elizabeth Anne Cecil was born 6 July, 1939, daughter of the 2nd Baron Rockley (1901-76), by his wife the former Anne Margaret Meade-Fetherstonhaugh (1912-80), scion of the Earls of Clanwilliam; she married 19 January, 1961, Capt Andrew Arnold Lyon Wills (1937-98), scion of the Wills baronets, a cousin of Her Majesty the Queen, and a godson of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, son of Maj John Lycett Wills (1910-99), by his wife the former Hon Jean Constance Elphinstone, LVO (1915-99), niece of the Queen Mother.

She was widowed in January, 1998. She leaves issue, two sons, Richard and Alexander, and one daughter, Tessa.

Damian Aspinall's father was later wed to the Lady Sarah Marguerite Curzon (b 1945), a daughter of the 5th Earl Howe. A sister, Amanda Aspinall, was wife of Cosmo Fry [see Londonderry M] and later wife of Daryl Hall, the musician/singer [Hall & Oates] &c.

Damian Aspinall's previous partners are Louise Elizabeth Julia Sebag-Montefiore [of that landed family] and Donna Air, now girlfriend of James Middleton, brother of HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, &c.

Aspinall has two daughters to Louise Sebag-Montefiore and one daughter from his relationship with Donna Air.

Mary Joan Birkbeck 1931-2016

_. Mary Joan Birkbeck, who died 8 January, 2016, aged 84, was a scion of that landed family, and a descendant of King William IV by his mistress, the actress Dorothea Jordan,

She was born in 1931, a daughter of Oliver Birkbeck (d 1952), by his wife the former Lady Joan FitzClarence (1904-92), who was a sister of the 5th Earl of Munster (which peerage is now extinct).

Miss Birkbeck was the winning trainer of the Waterloo Cup in 1973.

The funeral is at St Andrew's Church, Little Massingham, Norfolk, Thursday 28 January, 2016.

The 6th Earl of Erne, KCVO 1937-2015

_. The 6th Earl of Erne, KCVO, a former Lord Lieutenant of County Fermanagh, died 23 December, 2015. He was 78.

Henry George Victor John Crichton was born 9 July, 1937, the only son of the 5th Earl of Erne (1907-40), by his wife the former Lady Davidema Bulwer-Lytton (1909-95), a daughter of the 2nd Earl of Lytton.

He succeeded to the family honours on his father's death, 23 May, 1940, and was 6th Earl Erne, 6th Viscount Erne (both in the peerage of Ireland), 7th Baron Erne (also in the Peerage of Ireland) and Baron Fermanagh in the Peerage of the United Kingdom.

Lord Erne was a godson of King George VI. He served the Queen as a Page of Honour, 1952-54, and was Lord Lieutenant of County Fermanagh, appointed KCVO in 2012.

He married firstly, 5 Nov, 1958 (div 1980), Camilla Marguerite Roberts; married 2ndly, 21 June, 1980, Mrs Anne Karin Hitchcock. He leaves a son, and four daughters from his first marriage. The son, John, styled Viscount Crichton, succeeds as 7th Earl of Erne. He was born 19 June, 1971.

Emma Mimi Edmundson (born 2015)

 Annabel Frances Victoria Edmundson (born 3 December, 1979, nee Howard), wife of Simon Edmundson, and scion of the Earls of Suffolk & Berkshire, gave birth to a daughter, Emma Mimi, in 2015.

Annabel is the only child of the Hon Maurice David Henry Howard (born 3 November, 1936), and his wife the former Catherine Mary Victoria Summers (born 1945).

Annabel Edmundson is a granddaughter of the late 20th Earl of Suffolk & (13th) of Berkshire (1906-41). She married Simon Erich Edmundson in 2011.
