Duncan Henry Davidson 1941-2025

 Duncan Henry Davidson, who died 19 October, 2025, aged 84, was the multi-millionaire founder of Persimmon Homes, and a grandson maternally of the 15th Duke of Norfolk.

He was born 29 March, 1941, the son of Lieutenant-Colonel Colin Keppel Davidson (1895-1943), a grandson of the 7th Earl of Albemarle (1832-1894), and nephew by marriage of Mrs Alice Keppel, mistress of King Edward VII. Duncan's mother was Lady (Mary) Rachel Fitzalan-Howard (1905-1992),  a long serving Lady-in-Waiting to Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, the eldest daughter of the 15th Duke of Norfolk, GCVO (1847-1917).

Duncan Davidson was, as a 12 year old schoolboy, a page to his uncle the 16th Duke of Norfolk, KG, at the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, 2 June, 1953.

 He married in 1965, Sarah Filmer-Wilson, scion of that landed gentry family of Tranby Croft, daughter of Major Robin Filmer-Wilson (1903-1944), and his wife Patricia Kenneth Richards (1914-2017), former wife of the 9th Earl of Jersey (1910-1998), daughter of Kenneth Richards, of New South Wales, Australia, by his wife Eileen Mary, by whom he had issue, four daughters, (1) Camilla (born 1968), who has a daughter to Viscount Cranborne, the Marquess of Salisbury's heir, (2) Natasha (born 1969), Flora (born 1975), and Rose (born 1979).
