Peter Robert Nutting, JP, DL, who died 18 November, 2024, aged 89, was a scion of the Nutting baronets.
He was commissioned into the Irish Guards, and later served as chairman of Edward & John Burke between 1965 and 1968. He was chairman of IGI Insurance Company, Hampden Agencies, Telecom Plus and Directory. He was a JP for inner London and was member of the Council of Lloyds. Nutting was High Sheriff of Surrey in 1999, and was a deputy lieutenant of the county.
He was born 22 October, 1935, son of Capt Arthur Ronald Stansmore Nutting (1888-1964), and his wife the former Patricia Eizabeth Jameson (1905-2006), and was a grandson of Sir John Gardiner Nutting, 1st Baronet (1852-1918); and married 31 March, 1965, Cecilia Hester Marie-Louise Russell (born 22 October, 1942), scion of the Barons Ampthill (descended from the Dukes of Bedford), by daughter of Maj. Cosmo Rex Ivor Russell (1911-2003), and his wife the former Agnes Mary Parsons (1918-2003), scion of the Earls of Rosse, by whom he had issue, two sons William (born 19 June, 1968), and Rupert (born 20 Oct, 1971), and a daughter, Amanda (born 25 May, 1966).
