Charles Frederick Melville Rawlinson, MBE, died 21 May, 2023, aged 89.
He was born in 1934, son of Rowland Henry Rawlinson (1889-1980), of Bilton, Rugby, and his wife the former Olive Melville Anderson (1897-1981); and married 1962, Jill Rosalind Wesley (born 1939), daughter of John Jackson Wesley (1908-1998), of Wisbech, Cambridge, and his wife the former Jean Mary Image (1910-1997); by whom he had three daughters, Julia, Eleanor and Charlotte. The eldest daughter, Julia Caroline (born 28 Oct, 1964), married 30 July, 1988, James Robert Bruce Ogilvy (born 29 Feb, 1964), scion of the Earls of Airlie, the only son of the Rt Hon Sir Angus Robert Bruce Ogilvy, PC (1928-2004), and his wife HRH Princess Alexandra Helen Elizabeth Olga Christabel of Kent, LG, GCVO (born 25 December, 1936), granddaughter of HM King George V.
