The Hon Robin William Lewis, CVO, OBE, who died 9 September, 2022, aged 81.
He served as Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed from 2006 to 2016, and was High Sheriff of the county in 1987. He was Chairman, National Trust Committee for Wales 1994-97, Deputy Chairman Welsh Development Agency 1995-98. He was appointed OBE in 1988, and between 1989 and 1990, he was chairman of the General Advisory Council, IBA and was appointed Deputy Lieutenant of Dyfed in 2002.
He was born 7 February, 1941, the fourth son of the 3rd Baron Merthyr, KBE, TD, PC (1901-1977), and his wife the former Violet Meyrick (who died 2 February, 2003), scion of the Meyrick baronets.
He was educated at Quay Street School in Carmarthen, and at Eton, and graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford, with a Master of Arts degree.
He married 28 April, 1967, Judith Ann Giardelli, only daughter of (Vincent Charles) Arthur Giardelli MBE, of co. Carmarthen, by whom he had issue, a son, Christopher (born 6 Apr, 1970), and a daughter, Katharine (born 1972).
