Sir Christopher Meyer, KCMG, who died 27 July 2022, aged 78, was a former diplomat who served as the Ambassador to the United States (1997–2003), Ambassador to Germany (1997), and the chairman of the Press Complaints Commission (2003–2009). He 1stly, 1976, Francois Elizabeth Winskill, daughter of Air Commodore Sir Archibald [Archie] Winskill, KCVO, CBE, DFC [1917-2005], sometime captain of The Queen's Flight; he married 2ndly, in Oct, 1997, Catherine Irene Jacqueline Laylle, CBE [born 26 January, 1953], businesswoman, who was appointed CBE in 2012, and in 2018, was raised to the peerage of life as Baroness Meyer, of Nine Elms in the London Borough of Wandsworth.
