The engagement was announced 8 July, 2022, between David Frederick Payan Dawnay [born 1985], scion of the Viscounts Downe [descended from the 7th Visc], son of Charles James Payan Dawnay [born 7 Nov, 1946], of Symington, Lanarkshire, and his wife the former Sarah Stogdon [born 1951], and Daisy Louise Allsup [born 1989], daughter of Mark W. Allsup, of Kensington, London, and his wife the former Carina M. McMullan [born 1955].
David Dawnay is a grandson paternally of Capt Oliver Dawnay, CVO [1920-88], sometime private secretary and equerry to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and his 1st wife, Lady Margaret Dorothea Boyle [1920-2021], daughter of the 8th Earl of Glasgow [1874-1963].
