The engagement was announced 8 March, 2022, between Piers Crosby P. Riley-Smith [born 1992], son of Tristram P.B. Riley-Smith [born 1954], of Fenn Ditton, Cambridgeshire, and his wife the former Louisa M.M.E. Mair [born 1957], and Antonia Sarah E. Lock [born 1990], daughter of Professor Andrew Lock, and Mrs Sally Cooper, of Bowness, Cumbria.
Piers Riley-Smith is descended from the Yorkshire brewing family [John Smiths of Tadcaster, and Samuel Smith Old Brewery, also of Tadcaster]. His grandfather, William Henry Douglas Riley-Smith (1914-1981), of Brewhurst, Loxwood, Billingshurst, West Sussex, married Elspeth Agnes Mary Craik-Henderson (1920-1990), daughter of Sir John Craft Henderson, and Ivie Hestor Mary Hertslet, daughter of Harry Lester Hertslet, MVO, of the Lord Chamberlain's Office.
