Anthony Merrik Burrell, who died 2 March, 2022, aged 53, was a scion of the Burrell baronets. He had been suffering from pancreatic cancer. Mr Burrell was a son-in-law of the late 12th Duke of Argyll.
He was born 10 January, 1969, son of Mark William Burrell [born 9 Apr, 1937], and his wife the former Margot Rosemary Pearce, and was a grandson of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Walter Raymond Burrell, p8th Baronet [1903-85], and his wife the former Hon Anne Judith Denman [1907-87], daughgter of the 3rd Baron Denman [1874-1954].
He married 18 Apr, 1998, at St Giles, Edinburgh, the Lady Louise Iona Campbell [born 26 Oct, 1972], the only daughter of the 12th Duke of Argyll [1937-2001], of Inveraray Castle, by his wife the former Iona Mary Colquhoun [born 22 June, 1945], daughter of Sir Ivar Colquhoun of Luss, 8th Baronet [1916-2008], and his wife the former Kathleen Nimmo Duncan [died 17 Apr, 2007].
Anthony Burrell is survived by Lady Louise, and by a son, Albert Westray [Bertie] [born 4 Feb, 2009], and a daughter, Teale Iona [born 11 Feb, 2005].
