Marcus Mervyn Cooke died 16 September, 2021, aged 78.
He was born 28 March, 1944, a younger son of [John] Sholto Fitzpatrick Cooke [1906-75], sometime head of that Irish landed gentry family, and his wife the former Phoebe Maxwell Hamilton [who was later wife of the 4th Baron Hillingdon [1922-78].
He married 4 December, 1973, as her second husband, Phyllida Rosemary Carnegie [born 4 June, 1942], the adopted daughter of the 11th Earl of Northesk [1901-63], and the Countess of Northesk [nee Elizabeth Vlasto], by whom he had issue, two sons, Sebastian, and Adam [deceased].
