Daphne Elizabeth Beatrice Thorneycroft [nee Poland], who died 16 September, 2021, aged 88, was a scion of the Poland landed gentry family, of Bramshott.
She was born 8 September, 1933, daughter of Commander Kenneth Gordon Poland [1896-1970], head of the landed family, and his wife the former Hester Mary Beatrice Chichele-Plowden [1902-93], scion of the Barons Stafford.
Daphne Poland married 1960, Edward Kendall Thorneycroft, MBE, DL [1927-2000], by whom she had a son, Tom [born 22 Apr, 1962], and a daughter, Mary Louise [born 18 Mar 1961].
