Brigid, Lady McEwen (died 2024)

 Brigid, Lady McEwen, who died 23 December, 2024, aged 90, was the widow of Sir Robert (Robin)  McEwen of Marchmont & Bardrochat, 3rd Baronet.

She was the former Brigid Cecilia Laver, daughter of James Laver, CBE, FRSL, of Blackheath, London and his wife the former Bridget Turley; and married 18 September, 1954, Robert Lindley McEwen (born 23 June, 1926), second son of Sir John Helias Finnie McEwen of Marchmont and Bardrochat, 1st Baronet (1894-1962), and is wife the former Bridget Mary Lindley (died 1971), a granddaughter paternally of Lord Lindley, a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary, and a maternal granddaughter of the 13th Lord Lovat.

Her husband was a younger brother of Sir James McEwen, 2nd Baronet (1924-1971), whom he succeeded as third baronet, 2 July, 1971. The 3rd Baronet was an officer in the Grenadier Guards and later a barrister, admitted to the Inner Temple in 1951. He died in 1980.

Lady McEwen was the mother of two sons, Sir James McEwen, 4th Baronet (1960-1983), and Sir John, the 5th Baronet (born 4 Nov, 1965), and four daughters, Mary (b 1956), Catherine (1958-1983), Helena (b 1961), and Isabella (b 1968).
