The engagement was announced 19 July, 2024, between John Simon B. Elsmore Dodsworth (born 1988), son of Simon Dodsworth and his wife Felicity Elsmore (born 1950), of North Walsham, Norfolk, and the Hon Clio Catherine V. Carew Chartres (born 1993), scion of that landed gentry family, younger daughter of the life peer the Rt Rev Baron Chartres, GCVO, former Bishop of London (born 11 July, 1947), of Wilton, Wiltshire, and his wife the former Caroline Mary McLintock, scion of the baronets of that name.
